About this additive

Graphene is a sheet of carbon one atom thick. Thin graphene layers can sit between moving metal surfaces and slide over each other, helping the oil keep those surfaces apart under load. This additive brings that into motor oil, ready to blend.

In independent testing at Univar's Houston lab, our graphene lubricant additive gave up to 42% less wear and 26% higher weld load. Those results come from our graphene lubricant additive testing; engine performance depends on your base oil and additive package, so we test in your formulation. We do not publish fuel-economy, oil-life or field results.

Frequently asked questions

What did testing show for graphene in lubricants?

In independent testing at Univar's Houston lab, our graphene lubricant additive gave up to 42% less wear and 26% higher weld load. Results in a specific motor oil depend on the base oil and additive package, so we test in your formulation.

Is the graphene supplied as a powder?

No. The graphene comes pre-mixed in an oil-based carrier (graphene integrated into oleic acid and monomer), so you add a liquid, not a dry powder.

How much do I add to my oil?

Typical dose: 1–7% by weight, depending on the application. See the technical data sheet. Ask us and we will suggest a starting treat rate for your testing.

Do you claim better fuel economy or longer oil life?

No. We have no measured field data on fuel economy or oil life, so we do not make those claims.
