About Mar Mac Applied Infrastructure Sciences
According to its website, MarMac Applied Infrastructure Sciences (AIS) is a chemical, engineering and formulations research and development laboratory focused on making infrastructure better. AIS specializes in polymeric coatings, topical treatments and concrete admixtures that extend the serviceable life of the building materials they are applied to, and it is a division of MarMac Manufacturing Company, Inc. Where this connects to our work
Concrete is a core application for us. Our graphene concrete additive is a liquid concentrate dosed at 5% by weight of cement. In independent third-party testing in 2023 it gave a 67% gain in compressive strength and increased water resistance by 25%. Results depend on the cement, aggregates, water-cement ratio and curing, so we test with each producer in its own mix, and any change to a mix design must be confirmed by the project engineer.
Graphene rebar is a separate effort that is in development. It is not a product yet, and we make no claims about it.
