Graphene in Aerospace

Aerospace is always trying to save weight without giving up strength, durability or safety. We develop graphene-integrated polymers and composites for aerospace and defense, including composites made with AARG that were evaluated with V50 ballistic testing at NTS Chesapeake. Aerospace materials are qualified program by program, and our work is at the development stage.

Graphene Manufacturing Made in America

Graphene has remarkable properties in the lab, but it only helps a product when it is evenly mixed into the material. Getting that mixing right is the hard part, and it is what we focus on at Graphene Integrations.

What we do

We make graphene and infuse it into the liquids manufacturers already use: water, solvents, resins and oils. Customers get ready-to-use graphene dispersions, concentrates and additives that fit into their existing processes, instead of a dry powder that is hard to handle and mix.

Graphene in Aerospace

Aerospace is always trying to save weight without giving up strength, durability or safety. Graphene is studied as a small addition to the polymers and composites that aircraft already use.

Our aerospace polymer work

Working with Advanced Armor Research Group (AARG), we developed graphene-integrated polymers and composites. They were evaluated with V50 ballistic testing at the NTS Chesapeake ballistic and materials testing facility in Belcamp, MD. Why Graphene Technology, Innovation and Applications?

Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal, honeycomb lattice. It was first isolated in 2004 by Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, work that earned them the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics. Since then it has become one of the most studied materials in science.

Graphene in Glass Technology

Title
Graphene in Glass Technology

Graphene is being researched for glass because it is thin, nearly transparent, conductive and strong. Most of this work is still in research and development, and we are exploring where our graphene dispersions and coatings could fit.

Graphene in Telecommunications

Title
Graphene in Telecommunications

Telecommunications equipment needs to move signals quickly, keep interference out and get rid of heat. Graphene's electrical, optical and thermal properties make it a research material for all three. We supply graphene already dispersed in water, solvents and resins, ready for coatings, inks and composites.

Graphene in Energy Storage

Title
Graphene in Energy Storage

Graphene is one of the most researched materials for batteries and supercapacitors. We supply graphene already dispersed in water, solvents and resins, so battery and capacitor developers can test it in their own electrode formulations.

Graphene in Commercial Aerospace

Graphene in Commercial Aerospace

Commercial aerospace needs materials that save weight without giving up strength, durability or safety. Graphene is studied as a small addition to the polymers and composites aircraft already use. See what graphene is and where it is used.

Graphene in Fabric

Title
Graphene in Fabric

Graphene can be added to textiles as a coating, a printed layer or a filler in fibers. We supply graphene already dispersed in water, solvents and resins, ready for coating, printing or adding to fibers, so textile makers can test it in their own fabrics.

Graphene in Construction

Title
Graphene in Construction

Concrete is the core of our construction work. Our graphene concentrate, added at 5% by weight of cement, gave concrete a 67% gain in compressive strength in independent third-party testing in 2023, and concrete with 5% graphene increased water resistance by 25%.
